How It Works
An endless launcher game with physics-based gameplay. You set the angle and power of each launch, fire your ball into the sky, and watch it bounce across terrain while collecting coins. Use those coins to upgrade your stats, then launch again and fly even farther.
The gameplay loop is quick and satisfying. A single round takes seconds, but the upgrade progression keeps you coming back for one more launch.
Controls
- Left Mouse Button (Hold and Release) — Set angle and power, then launch. Hold longer for more power.
- Spacebar — Alternative launch input
- Mouse Movement — Slight trajectory adjustment during flight
The angle and power are set simultaneously through your click. The direction you point determines the angle, and the duration of your hold affects the power. Experiment with different combinations to find the sweet spot for maximum distance.
Upgrades
Coins collected during flight fund your upgrades. The upgrade screen appears between launches:
- Launch Power — Increases the initial force of your hit. This is your foundation. More power means more distance on every single launch.
- Ball Aerodynamics — Reduces air resistance during flight, letting the ball carry farther.
- Bounce — Increases the elasticity of each ground bounce. Higher bounces mean more airtime and more coin collection opportunities.
- Boost Strength — Amplifies the effect of boosters and ramps you hit during flight.
Upgrade Order
Prioritize Launch Power first. It has the biggest impact on your baseline distance. Once you have a few levels in Power, invest in Bounce to extend each run with better ground physics. Save Aerodynamics for later when small optimizations start mattering more.
Terrain and Boosters
The landscape features ramps, boosters, and bouncy surfaces that extend your flight:
- Ramps — Launch your ball upward when you roll over them. Great for gaining altitude mid-flight.
- Boosters — Flat pads that give a forward speed increase. Hit these to maintain momentum during the later stages of a bounce sequence.
- Bouncy surfaces — Special terrain patches with extra elasticity. Your ball rebounds higher off these than normal ground.
Aim your mid-air adjustments toward ramps and boosters whenever they appear. A single well-timed booster hit can add significant distance to your run.
Tips for Maximum Distance
- Bulk upgrades are better. Save your coins and purchase multiple upgrade levels at once. The cumulative effect is more noticeable than incremental spending.
- Timing your launch. The perfect click happens at the apex of your power bar. Too early and you lose force. Too late and the timing window passes.
- Aim for a moderate angle, around 40 degrees. Too steep and you get height but no distance. Too flat and you skim the ground.
- Adjust early in flight. Small corrections at the start of your trajectory have a bigger impact than large corrections near the end.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best launch angle? Around 40 degrees gives the best balance of height and distance for most upgrade levels. Adjust slightly based on nearby terrain features like ramps and boosters.
How do I earn more coins? Coins appear both floating in the air and scattered across the ground during your flight. Upgrading your launch power and bounce lets you cover more ground, which naturally exposes you to more coin pickups.
Is there an ending or final level? No. Ball Orbit is an endless game. Your goal is to continuously beat your personal best distance through better launches and strategic upgrades.
