How It Works
You stand face-to-face with an opponent in a slap battle. A power meter oscillates back and forth on screen. Your job is to click or tap at the exact moment the meter hits its peak to deliver maximum damage. Time it wrong and your slap lands like a wet noodle.
Opponents take turns slapping each other. When it is your turn, the meter appears. When the enemy slaps, you just have to hope you have enough health to survive.
Controls
- Click or Tap — Stop the power meter and deliver your slap
- Swipe (mobile) — Same function as tap
One button. The entire game is about reading the power meter and clicking at the perfect instant. The meter moves faster as you progress through opponents, making precise timing increasingly difficult.
The Power Meter
Understanding how the power meter works is the difference between winning and getting knocked out:
- The meter swings from low to high and back again in a continuous cycle.
- Peak power sits at the very top of the meter. Hitting this deals maximum damage.
- Mid-range hits deal moderate damage. Acceptable if your health lead is comfortable.
- Low hits deal minimal damage and basically waste your turn.
The meter speed increases with each new opponent. Early fights give you plenty of time to read the meter. Later opponents make the meter fly, demanding split-second reactions.
Upgrades and Progression
Between rounds, you can spend earned currency on upgrades:
- Strength — Increases base slap damage. Priority upgrade early on.
- Health — Raises your maximum health pool, letting you survive more hits. Upgrade this regularly to keep pace with stronger opponents.
- Defense — Reduces damage taken from enemy slaps. Useful in later stages when enemies hit extremely hard.
Upgrade Priority
Invest in Strength first to win fights faster. A short fight means fewer enemy slaps, which means less damage taken overall. Once Strength feels adequate, dump resources into Health to survive the harder opponents.
Reading Opponents
Each opponent has a personality. Some telegraph their attacks with exaggerated animations. Others are fast and efficient. Pay attention to their slap patterns:
- If an enemy consistently hits high on their meter, they deal big damage. You need your health pool topped up.
- Some opponents have a tell before they slap. Watch their animation wind-up to anticipate when the exchange is coming.
- Later opponents mix up their timing, sometimes delaying their slap to throw off your rhythm.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I hit the power meter perfectly every time? You cannot, and neither can your opponents. Focus on hitting the upper third consistently rather than stressing about the absolute peak. Consistent good timing beats occasional perfect timing.
What should I upgrade first? Strength is the best early upgrade. Killing opponents faster means taking fewer hits, which is more efficient than investing in Health early on. Shift to Health upgrades once opponents start hitting noticeably harder.
Why do I keep losing to the same opponent? The power meter speeds up against tougher opponents. You likely need to adjust your timing to match the faster oscillation. Practice the rhythm on a few attempts before spending upgrade currency.
